Brown Mountain

Brown Mountain - the back lot of Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL). Always a very zen-like ride up through the low hanging branches at the lower base then a steady climb up the narrow and ever winding dirt road (home to the horse-people and the kamikaze bike riders) up to the rarified air and the pine tree plateau. Flora abounds, blue skies and bike dust - on occasion a lemur can be spotted as well as the seldom seen ring-tailed cat. Bears enjoy the hillside, as do the larger cats. It is the bears that we have an issue with as they plunder and destroy the hives without concern.
